President Lee said on the 15th the government will investigate and recover
assets improperly amassed by pro-Japanese, anti-national actors and pursue their
historical accountability. Following the June 2 enactment of the Special Act on
State Ownership of Property of Pro-Japanese Anti-National Actors, the government
will more tightly manage seized pro-Japanese assets and ensure proceeds are
fully used to honor and support independence contributors and their heirs.
