According to Abu Dhabi-based Sky News, Anwar al-Karqaq, the UAE president's foreign policy advisor, stated that the frequent attacks on Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) tankers will not prevent the UAE from continuing its sound and rational policy. The UAE's policy is based on the triple principles of deterrence, diplomacy, and adherence to international law, and will protect its freedom of navigation and right to use the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with international law. Karqaq stated that the UAE will defend its sovereignty and interests while continuing to advance the dialogue process and prioritizing diplomatic means to resolve issues. He added that the UAE will do everything possible to strengthen the unified position of the Gulf states as a fundamental pillar for protecting regional security and the interests of all countries.
