Abu Dhabi-based Arab Sky News quoted UAE presidential foreign policy adviser Anwar Gargash saying repeated attacks on ADNOC tankers will not deter the UAE from pursuing a steady, measured policy. Gargash said UAE policy is built on deterrence, diplomacy and adherence to international law and that it will, under international law, protect freedom of navigation and access through the Strait of Hormuz. He added the UAE will defend its sovereignty and interests while prioritizing dialogue and diplomatic solutions and will push to strengthen a unified Gulf position to safeguard regional security and national interests.

He stated that the US president's unfounded claims regarding the Strait of Hormuz are inconsistent with international shipping rules and the relevant provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. Nushabadi also pointed out that Iran possesses political and military dominance over the Strait of Hormuz, a lifeline vital to global energy and the economy, making it a powerful lever and strategic trump card in response to external threats.
