As of Aug. 15 local time, Indiana officials said storms and flooding that swept
the U.S. state this week have killed at least five people. Heavy rain over the
past week pushed several rivers to record highs and forced residents onto higher
ground. More than a dozen counties have declared local disaster; the latest
damage is concentrated along the river corridor from Hamilton County into
Indianapolis’ northern suburbs.
