Turkey’s presidential office said on the 18th that President Erdogan and U.S.
President Trump held a telephone call in which both urged a diplomatic
resolution to tensions between the United States and Iran. The office said
Erdogan stressed the need for diplomacy, expressed hope the parties would
continue dialogue and pledged Turkey’s support for peace efforts; the leaders
also exchanged views on Turkey‑U.S. bilateral ties and regional issues. Erdogan
said Turkey has signed a joint defense agreement with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia,
describing it as a commitment to regional stability and security. He added
Turkey will continue to support measures aimed at a lasting peace in Gaza and
reconstruct there.
