On the 18th, Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the Strait
of Hormuz will not be opened until the US unfreezes Iranian assets, lifts oil
sanctions, ceases all military threats and operations on all fronts and meets
other conditions of the memorandum of understanding. He said the MoU's chance to
lift the blockade and secure a ceasefire would help bolster Iran's economy
resilience and rebuild defensive capabilities. Ghalibaf warned Iran is prepared
to respond with heavier strikes to any hostile transgressions.
