The global small-size OLED display panel market contracted in the second quarter as soaring memory chip prices dampened global smartphone sales, dragging down demand for this key component. Among major suppliers, only Samsung Display saw significant shipment growth, primarily driven by the launch of Samsung Electronics' new Galaxy Z8 foldable series. According to data released on the 19th by market research firm UBI Research, global shipments of small-size OLED panels in the second quarter reached 230 million units, a 4.6% year-on-year decrease. Shipments also declined by 0.2% compared to the first quarter, marking the third consecutive quarterly decline since the third quarter of last year. Second-quarter market revenue was $8.9 billion (approximately 12.5 trillion won), also a year-on-year decrease.
