Andy Burnham’s first public register of interests as UK prime minister, covering
donations back to June 2025, shows David Sainsbury gave more than £160,000 to
support his Labor leadership campaign’s staffing, travel and office costs. The
return also records £50,000 from a company linked to media executive Charlie
Parsons and £35,000 from Sasha Lord, a former adviser during Burnham’s tenure as
Greater Manchester mayor. Total declared donations and gifts are just over
£345,000, from a mix of wealthy Labor backers, trade unions and private
companies; this is Burnham’s first register since replacing Starmer in July.
