Iranian sources said on the 20th that talks with Oman to establish a joint
Strait of Hormuz vessel-transit mechanism, including a memorandum of
understanding on a new navigation regime, are in their final stages. US
President Trump on the 17th threatened to bomb Oman if it "blocks" US efforts to
reopen the strait. Continued attacks on vessels and oil flows well below
pre-conflict levels indicate neither the US nor Iran "completely controls" the
Strait of Hormuz.
