[Vietnam's Foreign Ministry: Welcomes China's Inclusion of Vietnam in Visa-Free Transit Policy] Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated at a regular press conference on August 20th that Vietnam welcomes China's inclusion of Vietnam in the scope of countries eligible for the 240-hour visa-free transit policy and the 30-day visa-free entry policy for Hainan. Pham Thu Hang expressed her expectation to further deepen people-to-people exchanges with China. China's National Immigration Administration issued an announcement on August 20th, stating that starting August 20th, 2026, citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam can apply for the 240-hour visa-free transit policy and the 30-day visa-free entry policy for Hainan to travel to China. This brings the number of countries eligible for the 240-hour visa-free transit policy to 57 and the number of countries eligible for the 30-day visa-free entry policy for Hainan to 61.
