Walmart CEO John Furner said he expects AI to improve nearly all of the
company's operations, enhancing the customer shopping experience and easing
employee tasks. He cited the retailer's AI shopping assistant Sparky, noting
Sparky users are up 70% YoY and Sparky users and members spend about 40% more
per order than non-users. Furner gave a use case where Sparky generated a
high‑protein weekly meal plan, produced recipes and meal-kit options within
seconds, and could add all required ingredients to the cart with one click.
