YONHAP — South Korea's Budget Office said on Friday it will use windfall tax
revenue from an AI-driven chip boom to establish a Future Fund to support
long-term growth. The office said AI-driven change is reshaping economic and
social systems and, propelled by a global chip upswing and higher corporate tax
receipts, domestic tax revenue is expected to rise sharply. The fund will
operate as a strategic investment platform to raise Korea's potential growth
rate and help secure a leading position in global technology competition.
