Muyuan Foods said on Aug. 20 at its 2026 interim results meeting it plans to
reduce its breeding sow herd to below 3.0 million head by end-September, roughly
600,000 head lower than last year’s peak. The company said the reduction
responds to national hog capacity controls and aligns with current industry
conditions and the government’s long-term pork-sector planning.
