China A-shares closed higher with the ChiNext Index up 1.43% (intraday high
1.8%), the Shanghai Composite up 0.04% and the Shenzhen Composite up 0.87%.
Turnover across Shanghai and Shenzhen was 1.88 tln yuan, about 200 bln yuan
below the prior session; more than 2,500 stocks advanced. Gold-related names led
gains—Shen Zhonghua A posted a second straight daily limit-up and names
including Hunan Silver, Shengda Resources, Fuda Alloy and Baiyin Nonferrous hit
daily limits; Rongjie also closed at a limit-up. Energy and industrial metals,
components, plastics, oil & petrochemicals, robotics, high-speed copper-cable
connector and MLCC concepts outperformed, while pharmaceutical distributors,
agribusiness, baijiu, airports, gaming, education, property developers and
CRO-related stocks labeled.
