Aug 21, 2026 — China foreign minister Wang Yi and Indonesia’s foreign minister
co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the China-Indonesia comprehensive strategic
dialogue in Jakarta. Both sides agreed to institutionalize the mechanism to
implement leaders’ consensus and to provide a platform for deepening the two
countries’ ‘five‑pillar’ cooperation and building a China‑Indonesia community
with shared future and regional/global influence. China said it views Indonesia
as a priority in its diplomacy and will expand all‑round cooperation to pool
development momentum, coordinate against shared risks amid global instability
and unilateralism, and support bilateral modernization efforts.
