Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh will speak at the annual Jackson Hole
symposium in Wyoming on Aug. 27. Investors expect him to clarify how the Fed
should respond to stubborn inflation, but it is unclear whether he will offer
explicit guidance. Warsh’s communication since the July policy meeting has been
muted; he disclosed little about his economic views and avoided forward guidance
on rates. Markets interpreted that as insufficient resolve to restore
disinflation, and long-term U.S. Treasury yields have risen to two-decade highs.
