UK Maritime Trade Operations said nearly 200 vessels transited the Strait of
Hormuz last week, up from 150 the week before and about 40 two weeks earlier.
Maritime intelligence firm Kpler said over the past two weeks more than 80% of
liquid cargoes transiting the Strait either rerouted via a US-backed,
IMO-authorized Oman route or had vessels switch off automatic identification
systems (AIS) to obscure movements.
