Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority said any vessel violating Iranian rules
while transiting the Strait of Hormuz will face restrictions on subsequent
transits, including fines, impoundment or seizure. The authority ordered cargo
owners with Persian Gulf origin or destination to check its website for the
latest list of non-compliant vessels before chartering. Effective immediately,
vessels that carry out ship-to-ship transfers, transshipment or other operations
with vessels on that list will themselves be added to the violators' list.
