ExxonMobil said a fire in the laundry room of a floating vessel off Guyana
forced a temporary suspension of operations on the Liza Unity FPSO. The blaze
was quickly extinguished, but a company spokesperson said crude offloading
operations were affected. The Liza field is central to Guyana’s oil expansion;
the Stabroek block produces just over 900,000 b/d and Liza Unity handles about
250,000 b/d.
