Gold climbed to its highest in over three months on Monday, supported by a
softer dollar as markets await US inflation signals and a Fed policy speech.
Traders are focused on the July PCE price index and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's
remarks at the Jackson Hole symposium later this week for cues on the
interest-rate outlook. KCM Trade chief market analyst Tim Waterer said gold has
seen renewed buying driven mainly by dollar weakness, and market participants
are watching whether rising yields signal underlying economic strain and policy
uncertainty; a balanced or cautious Warsh tone, if it aligns with recent
bond-market moves, could open the door to further gold gains.
