NVIDIA is negotiating an equity investment in AI startup Perplexity that would
value the company at over $30 bln, people familiar with the matter said. The
funding round could total several bln dollars and would mark a valuation jump of
more than 50% versus Perplexity's prior round a year ago. Sources said
Perplexity's annualized revenue has risen from under $250 mln at the start of
the year to above $750 mln, partly driven by its Perplexity Computer AI agent.
Perplexity has raised more than $1.7 bln to date from NVIDIA and other investors
including New Enterprise Associates, Accel and SoftBank; NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang
has said he frequently uses Perplexity.
