Kazakhstan’s Central Election Commission released preliminary counts on the 24th
for the first unicameral Kurultai. Five cleared parties the threshold to win
seats. About 9.35 million voters participated; turnout 74.08%. The ruling
Justice Party led with 71.17% of the vote; the Rural (Auyl) Party received
6.26%. The Republican Party and other parties also surpassed the 5% threshold to
enter the Kurultai.
