Saudi outlet Alhadath cited a senior Israeli military official saying the West
Bank’s security dynamics differ from Gaza and Lebanon because there are no clear
frontiers. The official said Israel’s leadership misunderstands the West Bank’s
nature and composition and warned an outbreak with consequences that cannot be
managed solely by security forces appears likely. Points of contact have risen
from about 200 to 400, and the military cannot deploy around more than roughly
400 sites and settlements; the increase in contact points is consuming Israeli
forces’ capacity.
