Houthi militants said they struck Saudi tanker Amzan with a ballistic missile in
the northern Red Sea off Yanbu, claiming a direct hit that set the vessel ablaze
and forced nearby ships to flee. They framed the attack as part of a campaign to
block Saudi maritime traffic — a "blockade-for-blockade" operation — and warned
they are prepared to respond to any escalation with stronger, more intense and
wider-ranging strikes.
