Aug 24 — Iran foreign ministry spokesman BAGHAEI said US threats to impose a new
round of sanctions against Iran would "seriously violate international law." He
said Iran has the right to strike all sources of aggression. BAGHAEI said Tehran
views current domestic economic pressure and business distress as part of
decades-long US pressure on the Iranian people and that the government has
assessed the situation and is taking all measures to counter economic sanctions.
He criticized Washington calling the measures an "economic war," saying it
showed disregard for free trade and state sovereignty.
