The third China-US 1.5-track dialogue was held in Beijing today. Delegations
from Chinese ministries, local governments and think tanks and representatives
including the US Asia Society discussed boosting political trust, expanding
trade cooperation and exploring AI and broader technology collaboration.
Launched in 2023 as a channel between formal diplomacy and Track-2 engagement,
the 1.5-track format convenes party, strategic, corporate, academic and civil
actors and has previously put forward concrete proposals on political, economic,
technological and cultural cooperation.
