Commonwealth Bank economist Belinda Allen said the RESERVE BANK OF AUSTRALIA
views inf risks as skewed to the upside and that debate over the appropriate
policy response is intensifying. She questioned whether C.BANK is losing
patience—possibly—or may be using verbal intervention to ensure financial
conditions remain tight until inf shows more substantive progress. Allen added
current inf prints are insufficient to declare victory: Q2 inf undershot
expectations largely due to volatile components that risk rebounding in coming
months.
