President Trump said Canada has “extorted” the United States for decades,
imposing tariffs on U.S. farm exports of up to 400% and shutting U.S. companies
out of markets. He accused Canada of refusing to certify Gulfstream business
jets for about a decade until his intervention, effectively favoring a Canadian
rival, and said Canada would no longer receive special treatment from the United
States.
