Four people familiar with the matter on Aug. 25 said Iran’s missile and drone
strikes heavily damaged U.S. intelligence sites and surveillance equipment in
the Middle East, causing damage greater than in any previous similar strike on
U.S. intelligence agencies; repair costs are expected to reach tens of billions
of dollars. Two sources said the strikes have prompted the U.S. Congress to seek
funding for repairs. U.S. officials are reassessing deployment of personnel and
intelligence assets amid a rising Iranian drone and missile threat.
