At a routine briefing TAO spokesperson Zhang Han said Beijing supports
cross-strait film exchanges and welcomed an inaugural cross-strait film exchange
held in Beijing that industry participants received positively. Zhang accused
Democratic Progressive Party authorities of ignoring industry and public calls
and using political interference to impose various unreasonable restrictions on
mainland films are being shown in Taiwan, and urged the DPP to lift those limits
promptly and not block cross-strait audiovisual and cultural cooperation.
