China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said at a State Council
Information Office briefing that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period it will
accelerate development of advanced manufacturing, maintain a reasonable
manufacturing share and lift quality and efficiency. Policy steps will
prioritise expanding value-added space, competing on quality and intelligence,
upgrading process technology and product quality, strengthening premium brand
building, promoting innovative allocation of production factors, and steering
manufacturing toward both ends of the 'smile curve' to raise total factor
productivity.
