The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said the Xiamen–Kinmen bridge
reflects a shared demand of residents and that full opening will ease travel and
support Kinmen’s economic development and livelihoods. The office urged the
Democratic Progressive Party authorities to respect Kinmen residents’ interests,
stop political calculations, and support the bridge’s early completion and
commissioning.
