During the 14th Five-Year Plan, China’s new-energy vehicle industry jumped from
the million-unit scale to the ten-million-unit scale: annual sales rose from
1.367 mln to 16.49 mln and NEVs’ share of new-car sales climbed from 5.4pct to
47.9pct. China now accounts for over 70pct of global output of new-energy
vehicles, power batteries and key materials, with products sold in more than 100
countries and regions. For the 15th Five-Year period, Chinese authorities will
push to raise product supply quality, advance pilots for intelligent
connected-vehicle admission and road testing and for car–road–cloud integration,
and strengthen supporting use environments to address consumer adoption
concerns.
