Data from shipping intelligence firm Kpler shows that Iran still possesses over 80 million barrels of oil reserves outside the blockade zone, providing Tehran with a crucial short-term buffer. It is understood that most of this oil has already been pre-ordered, a situation that corroborates the statement by Abdolnaser Hemmati, the governor of the Central Bank of Iran, that oil exports have "virtually ceased." This oil will provide Iran with a source of revenue for another five to six months, after which the revenue from oil exports will completely disappear.
