Analyst Edward Ludlow says NVIDIA (NVDA.O) has more than doubled its forward supplier commitments in a single quarter, rising from $119bn to $279bn. NVIDIA attributes the increase mainly to secure memory supply. These are commitments to suppliers, not incurred costs, intended to lock components and capacity to meet AI demand over the coming years. Commitments total $92bn for the remainder of the current fiscal year, $87bn for fiscal 2028 and $88bn for fiscal 2029.

Saxo Markets chief investment strategist Charu Chanana said NVIDIA's results strongly validate the AI infrastructure investment case. As capacity expands, storage, networking, optical communications, power infrastructure and some cloud providers should benefit, but markets increasingly need to see AI investment deliver returns. Storage remains a clear beneficiary; NVIDIA's margin guidance confirms supply tightness. Asian storage-chip stocks largely rose after the results. Chanana added the next phase of any storage-chip rally will depend more rising on AI demand and whether per-accelerator storage capacity can absorb supply, rather than on supply shortages alone supporting prices.
