Three people familiar with the matter said CIA Director John Ratcliffe made an
unannounced trip to Moscow on the 25th aboard a US military C-17 to warn Russia
against attacking NATO members, particularly the three Baltic states, and to
press Moscow to curb support for Iran. The visit has not been acknowledged by
President Trump or the CIA. One of the sources was a UK government official. The
trip made Ratcliffe the first known CIA director to visit Russia during Trump’s
Presidency.
