Iranian president PEZESHKIAN called for stronger economic integration among
Muslim-majority countries, citing the Organization of Islamic Cooperation's 57
members as spanning Southeast Asia to Africa, occupying key sea and land trade
routes and holding energy resources, youthful demographics and large markets. He
said the bloc's combined GDP in 2024 was about $9.2 trillion (roughly 8.3% of
global GDP) and noted only 19% of members' exports stay within the OIC, urging
expanded intra-OIC trade.
