Kioxia Holdings plans to invest more than ¥1 trillion to build a new NAND flash
production facility at its Kitakami plant in Iwate prefecture. President Yuji
Ota will present the plan to Prime Minister Takaichi at the prime minister's
official residence in Tokyo later today. Kioxia currently produces NAND in
Yokkaichi (Mie) and Kitakami (Iwate); the new capacity is intended to meet
rising AI-driven data-center demand for storage chips.
