China's daily AI token calls exceeded 500 trillion as of June, and global intelligent-compute capacity is already showing signs of tight supply. Multiple Chinese regions are accelerating build-out of domestic token factories and smart-compute complexes, shifting the domestic compute supply chain from product validation toward mass delivery. A 9.5 billion yuan smart-compute complex in Guangzhou Huangpu Comprehensive Bonded Zone has been approved; the project will serve AI workloads including text-to-video generation and code writing, and facilitate Chinese token exports. Liu Miao, founder of Guangzhou Turing New Intelligence, said demand could be more than ten times current supply and that firms are decisively turning to domestic ecosystems this year. Zhang Chen, deputy general manager of market development at China Power Engineering Consulting Group, said orders for domestic chips have surged and lead times may stretch out to around a year.
