ANTHROPIC is reportedly considering allowing existing shareholders to sell
shares in its planned U.S. IPO, a departure from recent large-tech such deals as
SpaceX that barred shareholder sales. Permitting secondary sales would let early
investors, executives and employees realize part of their paper gains.
company plans to file its IPO prospectus after U.S. Labor Day (Sept. 7) and
expects a mid-September investor day for potential investors and research
analysts. The IPO could occur as early as late September or early October, but
timing may change.
