OpenAI has appointed Sandhya Devanathan, a senior executive from Meta Platforms
(META.O), to lead its Southeast Asia and Australia business to capture growth
across markets of more than 600 million people. Devanathan will be OpenAI’s top
regional official, based in Singapore and reporting to APAC managing director
Kiran Mani, responsible for consumer user growth, enterprise adoption and
partnerships, operations and regulatory engagement. She will take up the newly
created role in October. Devanathan said on LinkedIn she is leaving Meta; an
OpenAI spokesperson confirmed the appointment.
