According to Al Jazeera, Ireland's Minister of State for International Cooperation stated, "We seek a unified European response to Israel's escalation in the West Bank. We recognize Palestine as a state and emphasize the necessity of a two-state solution. Further sanctions must be imposed on those involved in settlement construction and on settlement goods. We will hold a meeting next week to discuss the occupation of the West Bank. We are working with other countries, including Spain, to expand sanctions against Israel."
