The Chinese Academy of Sciences' Space Applications Engineering and Technology
Center said a recent Earth–Moon laser-communication test established a
bidirectional high-speed laser link over more than 400,000 km — the first-ever
two-way high-speed Earth–Moon laser communication — marking China’s space laser
communications moving from low-Earth orbit into cislunar space.
