Iran’s deputy foreign minister said the Strait of Hormuz is "completely closed"
and no vessel may transit without coordination and permission from Tehran. He
said Iran’s armed forces fully control movements in the strait and described US
reports of ships transiting as false. Iran has reached an agreement with Oman on
transit arrangements but said the strait will not reopen until the US fulfills
its commitments. Tehran said it will continue defensive actions and is prepared
for any scenario.
