SK Hynix said it is open to additional investment in the US semiconductor
industry but has not made any decision. The company’s CEO forecast a global
memory-chip shortage lasting through end-2030. SK Hynix is scouting global sites
for R&D and testing; power supply, water resources and government incentives are
key selection criteria. The company said it will consider any location that can
provide sufficient infrastructure and signaled it hopes to deliver further
positive developments for the US AI sector.
