IRNA reported Iran has completed the legal and administrative procedures required to establish a joint free-trade zone with Turkey at Khoy in northwest Iran and is awaiting action from Turkey to advance and finalize the project. Hosein Forouzan, secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council for Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones, said the proposed joint zone has entered legal processes after negotiations and has been approved by the Iranian government; implementation will follow a bilateral memorandum of understanding. He highlighted the strategic importance of the Razi border crossing as a key Iran-Turkey trade route.
