Germany’s finance minister and vice-chancellor plans to urge G20 peers,
including the US, to end tariff disputes and regional conflicts — naming the
Iran war and the Russia-Ukraine conflict — as damaging to the global economy at
meetings began next Monday in Asheville, North Carolina. He said reducing
“large global uncertainty” is a shared responsibility and will hold bilateral
talks with counterparts from India, Canada and the UK to deepen cooperation
among countries reliable on open, rules-based trade and reliable cooperation.
