NASA’s next‑generation Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope lifted off on Oct. 30
at 07:26 ET (19:26 Beijing) aboard SpaceX’s Falcon Heavy from Kennedy Space
Center. The telescope will head to the Sun–Earth L2 point about 1.5 million km
from Earth to observe dark matter, dark energy and exoplanets. Design life is
five years with a possible five‑year extension; first science images are
expected in early 2027.
