[UK House Prices Stagnate; Average English House Price Below 20 Years Ago] According to the UK's Daily Telegraph, the real value of the average home in England is now lower than it was 20 years ago, impacted by inflation and interest rate shocks to the housing market. Data from real estate agency Hamptons shows that a typical English home sold for £293,262 in June, lower than the average sale price of £296,179 in July 2006 after adjusting for inflation. Compared to the most recent market peak in June 2021, the real price has fallen by £47,522. Experts say these figures mean that UK property can no longer be considered an investment.
