Japan’s Self-Defense Forces said on the 28th it has dismissed active-duty
officer Murata Akihiro after he allegedly forced his way into the Chinese
embassy. Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said at a routine
briefing the officer entered the embassy armed with a knife and issued violent
threats, calling the episode unprecedented, a serious violation of the Vienna
Convention on Diplomatic Relations and a grave threat to the safety of Chinese
diplomatic staff and facilities. Guo said the incident exposed rampant domestic
right-wing forces and failures in SDF discipline, noted that Japan has brought a
prosecute, and urge Tokyo to take responsibility, severely punish the
perpetrator and conduct a full investigation and rectification, saying the
international community is watching.
